Who we are
My name is Carol Ramsay, I’m an experienced artist of over 30 years, I decided it was high time to share my love of art and show people how easy and fun it can be to put brush to canvas.
I studied illustration at 18 and I have mostly worked as a self employed portrait artist over the years but returned to University as a mature student and achieved a First class Fine Art BA degree, followed by a Distinction MA in Fine Art, Site and Archive Intervention.
My work ranges from once upon a time doing caricature events for weddings and functions to running a community drop in centre that hosted artists in residence and workshops. I’ve been a site specific installation artist, a sessional lecturer, I have ran many different types of art workshops at galleries and schools. I even started an art trail for the wonderful New Ferry Butterfly Park, that has grown even larger over time.
Now I’d like to have fun with art, show you all how much fun it can be and hopefully leaving you wanting to come back for more.
I have my amazing family behind the scenes, my husband is helping me set up and making equipment , my son designed my logo and this website and all my marketing materials. My other son is at Uni but you can bet I’ll rope him in over the summers too.
Giving Back: I think it is really important to help others.
For every class booked, we are going to log a free session and once we reach 15, we are going to offer a free class for a charitable organisation.
This will be our way to give back to the local community. The people who can't necessarily afford to attend a class but would truly benefit from a couple of hours away from home, having fun and being creative.
Visit our contact page if you know a charity and organisation that might benefit.
